Job Overview

This position reports to the Vice President and General Manager of Global Sales for Hitachi Vantara, Data Driven Solutions – Pentaho, IOT, Content.


  • Assess current Presales organization structure and effectiveness across the geography
  • Develop Pre-Sales Organization Globally to build subject matter expertise across Pentaho, IOT Solutions
  • Develop Regional Technical Specialist to represent deep technical pre-sales expertise in key pursuits Globally
  • Participate and Align with other Pre-Sales groups in other geographies to ensure collaboration and sharing of best practices allowing for efficient execution
  • Ensure the Presales Engineering function within the geography is aligned to sales segmentation including tight alignment between regional pre-sales leadership and regional sales leadership
  • Lead communication, coordination and alignment of Presales plans and programs across the geography in order to ensure success
  • Attend country, region and geography meetings as appropriate
  • Work with the stakeholders (sales leadership, presales leads, channel partners, HR, Academy, product management and marketing and aligned organization leads) to execute sustainable compensation and development plans 
  • Propose and lead in the optimization of technical training, collaboration tools, and productivity tools to drive efficiency and effectiveness of the geography presales organization
  • Meet with key channel partners, system integrators, customers and internal teams to review, mentor and contribute to revenue opportunities
  • Attend and present at key technical conferences, analyst briefings and internal meetings to ensure CTO-level skills and knowledge
  • Support geography sales teams and partners as a customer advocate and technical executive sponsor

Minimum Education (or substitute experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field; Masters, other related degree, or experience in a related industry domain field strongly preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in a technical-based leadership position ideally with experience leading a pre-sales organization
  • 10+ years’ experience leading and managing people
  • 10+ years working in a corporate-centric business model
  • Experience working in a heavily matrix organization
  • Experience in public speaking at leadership conferences. PC skills with strong Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, and Internet capabilities
