Purpose of the Position

This position oversees EnLink Midstream's Environmental, Compliance, Health and Safety initiatives to ensure a well-controlled, collaborative and effective environment which will support the Company's safety culture, respect for the environment, and return on investment.

This position will work closely with corporate leadership to ensure the company follows sound practices related to process safety, worker health and safety, and environmental and safety stewardship. Ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies is key for this position, as well as overseeing a staff of professionals who are responsible for program development, incident investigations, process/operations audits, and government compliance & reporting.

Scope

The VP EHS and Compliance will be responsible for the direction of all environmental, health, safety and compliance initiatives for EnLink, including, but not limited to:

· Drive a culture of safety and compliance

· Understand, minimize, and responsibly manage the environmental impacts and risks of our operations, setting goals that reflect continuous improvement.

· Maintain an eye towards not only meeting, but exceeding environmental legal requirements, conforming to the spirit as well as the letter of the law.

· Design, develop and maintain the necessary systems and processes that will continually measure, promote, guide and direct EnLink in maintaining compliance with applicable local, state and federal regulations.

· Oversee the tracking and reporting of EnLink's environmental performance using best practice reporting guidelines.

· Maintain a constructive dialogue with government agencies and public officials, communities, environmental groups, and other external organizations on environmental issues.

· Lead by example, demonstrating responsible environmental behavior everywhere we serve and supporting public policy that contributes to an ever-improving environment.

· Consider issues in the context of a multi-state company with varied technologies, operating in various markets and regulatory structures.

· Conceptualize Risk Management Programs, and Risk Evaluation & Mitigation Strategies (REMS)-type programs in order to alleviate issues before they happen.

· Guide staff that identify, analyze and interpret local, state and federal laws and regulations as well as industry standards relating to Environmental Health and Safety.

  • Build and guide productive and collaborative relationships between the EHS disciplines and other business units as well as our customers, government agencies and peers within the industry.
  • Support the growth initiatives associated with grass-roots or mergers and acquisitions.

Position Functions

This individual is expected to have a broad and comprehensive knowledge of all matters related to Environmental, Health, Safety, and Compliance, as well as the vision required to steer its course into the future. The incumbent must have core-competencies and the visionary ideas to move EnLink forward.

  • Oversee the following functions: EHS, Engineering Asset Integrity, Regulatory and Environmental Regulators, Systems (GIS, Workflow, etc.) and Operations Skills Development.
  • Creation and continuous improvement of the Company's vision for growth in the future as it applies to environmental, compliance, health and safety, as well as the systems to support these areas.
  • Oversee all EHS initiatives. Guide proactive risk-based and scalable programs.
  • Provide strategic leadership for all environmental, compliance, health and safety matters in the organization, with a strong awareness of technology affecting various functional area(s).
  • Position the organization for success by establishing challenging yet achievable programs to deliver on EnLink's goals.
  • Leverage external vendors to maximize cost savings.
  • Manage, develop and motivate employees to maximize productivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in relevant area of study
  • Track-record of strategically planning a proactive and risk-based approach for a rapidly growing midsize corporation
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong collaborative partnerships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proven ability to drive corporate vision, build strategies, and forecast potential issues, thus supporting the business success.
  • Understand and thrive in a dynamic culture of change
  • 10 Years' management experience in the natural gas industry relating to various facets of pipeline gathering and transmission, natural gas and natural gas liquids processing, measurement and regulatory compliance
  • Strong leadership experience of at least 10 years, relating directly to Environmental Health and Safety, including the management of complex systems and environments that reside in numerous domestic field locations
  • Proven history of proactively working with local, state and federal representatives from various governmental agencies in order to successfully mitigate compliance discrepancies as well as constructively arguing regulatory applicability with respect to natural gas operations
  • Experienced in leading SMEs in the areas of Air, Water, Waste compliance and permitting, SPCC, Stormwater and Wetlands plan development and permitting, RMP and PSM management, HAZWOPER and ICS development and training, US Coast Guard Security Plan Development, Radiation Safety Officer experience for both NORM and permitted sources, Mergers and Acquisition Due Diligence Assessments
  • Active participation in industry and professional associations related directly and indirectly with natural gas industry
  • High level of communication and presentation skills at all levels of a company
