NITC provides critical IT infrastructure, data center services, and cloud hosting for vital federal government functions.

Responsibilites

  • Contribute to overall design and standardization efforts
  • Assist with Data Center capacity, configuration, and growth planning
  • Develop and document standards in the areas of configuration, provisioning, monitoring, maintenance, installation and compliance
  • Provide thoughtful review and guidance of compute configurations
  • Take ownership of incidents and identify problem trends to improve the overall dependability of the environment and meet appropriate Service Level Agreements
  • Monitor relevant systems for availability and performance and respond to alerts to meet business objectives and service levels
  • Write scripts and procedures for daily operations
  • Maintain and support production environments consisting of VMware
  • Manage HP and Cisco blade environments including design, build, and maintain
  • Apply security best practices compliant with NIST and STIG baselines
  • Interface with storage and network teams in design, performance optimization, capacity planning
  • Build and manage new hypervisors

Job Requirements

  • Experience with VMware tools including ESX, ESXi/vSphere, vCenter, vMotion, DRS, vRealize and other virtualization technologies and concepts
  • Possesses a deep understanding of VMware core components and their relation to storage and networking, and be proficient in data center design methodologies
  • Hands on experience installing, configuring, and administering Cisco UCS rack and blade server infrastructure components.
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity solutions including VMWare Site Recovery Manager (SRM) or other industry standard solutions for DR/BC.
  • Outstanding customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to remain agile in a fast-paced, ever-evolving IT department
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Ability to automate aspects of vSphere management using PowerCLI
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex issues
  • Minimum 6-10 years of experience with job related skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
  • Four (4) years relevant experience with VMware System Administration
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
