Position Summary:

Siemens Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Software is seeking a

Design lead with a strong visual design and software user experience
background. This role requires a strong understanding of user
experience best practices and hands on experience with interaction
design, visual design, information architecture, user research and UX
strategy as well as proven people and project management skills.

Job Description: The User Experience Design Lead is responsible for
working with CTO leadership and UX Quality and Policy functional leads
to meet user needs and improve business results. You will wear many UX
hats and be asked to develop a variety of UX deliverables from personas
to mock-ups as well as policy and best practice documentation and where
needed supervision of ui design at all levels including the visual
design of component libraries where needed.



• Work with a cross functional team using Agile methodology to define
user stories and necessary UX deliverables as part of sprint planning
both within the cross PL UX team of which you will be a key part and
also within other PL product groups as needed.
• Advocate for the user’s needs and collaborate with CTO UX leadership
and PL UX practitioners at all levels to develop solutions that align
to the needs of the user and Siemens PL software.
• Turn requirements into simple and intuitive interfaces for the end
• Analyze and resolve UI design alternatives and issues, often across
multiple, diverse teams.
• Prepare UX documentation (navigational flows, wire frames, mock-ups,
use cases, task flows prototypes, etc.) to be used by product
development teams.
• Collect and action UX feedback from customers/end users and manage
changes to UX deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure UX documentation is continuously updated and distributed as
• Keep up to date in the field by monitoring consumer trends, attending
workshops, joining professional groups and reading relevant research.
• Promote importance of user-centered activities and influence
stakeholders to insure execution.


Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:


•Background in user experience and/or human factors and interaction
design with a strong emphasis on visual design skills, at least 10
years of professional experience. Ideally experience with complex
Enterprise software products.
•Degree in human computer interaction, human factors engineering,
visual design, interaction design, or other related discipline required
•Strong portfolio or work samples demonstrating user-centered design
experience in industry.
•Experience rapidly iterating designs to meet tight deadlines.
•Knowledge and proficiency with in industry standard UX software
including: Axure, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar UX tools.
•Passionate about producing high-quality and engaging UX deliverables.
•Excellent written, visual and verbal communication skills.
•Proven ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines, product
lines, roles and geographical and time zone boundaries.
•Willingness to travel.
•Proven people and project management skills working with design/UX
teams and across larger groups and organizations.
•Strong influencing skills and evidence of working across organizational
