In support of our Department of Defense (DoD) client's mission to provide enterprise network operations and computer network defense, the successful candidate will provide Enterprise Virtualization Management support to the Enterprise Service team.

The successful candidate will be able to configure aspects of VM in support of a 265,000 user environment across multiple domains on global enterprise network. The Senior Virtualization Administrator should have extensive knowledge of VMware and the experience to deploy and maintain complex VMware environments. The environment is supported by VMware Update Manager, VSphere, ESXi, storage area networks, SnapManager, Windows Server operating systems, VMware vCloud and adheres to DISA Standard Technical Implementation Guidance. In addition, the candidate will work with client customers and product vendors on configuration of features and functionality; document best practices and internal processes for internal training; assist with change management and documentation of environments; work with an integrated team to ensure success of select customer groups, including VIPs; and ensure customer uptime through precise monitoring implementations, good change management, and incorporation of best practices. #CJPOST

The candidate will be expected to do the following:

  • Maintain the overall health of technologies associated with Virtual Infrastructure (VI), including performing required system maintenance to ensure system availability and security performance.
  • Resolve VM tickets escalated from the service desk including the administrative activities and provide a weekly Messaging Status Report.
  • Provide documentation, guidance and instruction to the Tier 1 service desk for handling standard Virtual Infrastructure related incidents, work orders and service requests.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to the service desk for handling standard virtual infrastructure (VI) related incidents and service requests.
  • Submit and execute VI related Request for Change (RFC).
  • Coordinate incident tickets between Tier II and III sections as well as other sections as required.
  • Monitor the health of VI with provided event management tools.
  • Provide project support for VI related technologies.
  • Support change management process; submit requests through Change Approval Board; participate in a Change Review Board.
  • Escalate issues to third-party product vendors for resolution support.
  • Implement monitoring tool thresholds and conduct proactive event remediation.
  • Provide analysis and remediation for DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) for all responsible technologies in preparation for annual Inspections.


Required Experience

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Professional series Certification (e.g. MCITP, VCDX5-DCV)
  • 7 Years related experience
  • IAT III certification (CISA, GCIH, GCED, CASP, or CISSP (or Associate))
  • ITIL Foundations
