Job Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Dallas, Texas. Lead and prioritize the Application Support team’s workload, manage and own the problem management process, and maintain application monitoring, performance tuning and testing. Analyze and quantify the current trends in failure alerts to transform the existing process to make it more efficient and cost-effective. Provide oversight to the Business Applications’ production health and ensure timely action on any issue to avoid the downtime of critical applications. Review and identify recurring production issues and work with other AppBank team members and application owners to resolve them permanently to improve application stability and performance. Automate failures using machine learning techniques and notify discrepancies in the health of production and automation of health-restoration, with a focus on continuous measurement of risk and cost. Lead the Scrum calls to track all the DevOps work in partnership with Development team and automate the repeatable manual tasks. Serve as functional expert on all aspects of Middle Office Trade Booking, Client Confirmations, Matching, Shaping, Allocations, Settlement Instructions and Clearing, assist Trading and Settlement Operations teams to investigate all aspects of post trade workflow including identifying stuck trades, issues in trading economics, re-flowing trades as required. Work as a specialist in AppBank Operations to provide production support for ETO Engineering products used across the firm like Fabric (Monitoring), and Pulse (Metrics). Provide application expertise as part of broader technical and market led event management activities, such as Firmwide system upgrades, index rebalances. Manage business continuity planning tests (BCP), on both in-house applications and as part of broader street wide tests (such as DTCC failover test).
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related role Or Master’s degree (U.S or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Prior experience must include five (5) years (if Bachelor’s) or three (3) years (if Master’s) with: providing production support handling mission critical applications; using Unix operating system to create files, move files, and write shell scripts; working on incident, problem and change management processes and practices; debugging and resolving complex technical and user reported issues; configuring, managing, and troubleshooting time sensitive, mission critical workflows; and working with relational databases and able to troubleshoot issues related to database environments. Prior experience must include (2) years with: troubleshooting application issues including identifying defects, discrepancies, and trends by ways of code debugging and log analysis; supporting mission critical, real time workflow applications; and working with at least one of the following scripting languages: Unix shell scripts, Perl, JavaScript or Python. Prior experience must include (1) year with: performing transformation to reduce risk and manual effort.
