Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation of federal, state, international, and VAT/GST income tax returns including monthly, quarterly and annual accounting income tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures
  • Ensure that all Federal, State, and Local tax filings are submitted on a timely basis in a manner which minimizes tax costs including related analysis, support and coordination with outside tax preparer
  • Forecast and manage estimated tax payments
  • Ensure all taxreporting and accounting is accurate and in accordance with applicable state, local, federal, and international tax and accounting regulations, as well as US GAAP
  • Direct research and strategic planning efforts related to tax issues, assist in due diligence on new acquisitions and provide tax planning advice related to contract terms and/or conditions to mitigate adverse tax consequences in connection with current and future M&A activities
  • Work with Treasury Department on the tax benefits of proposed investments, financing vehicles, business ventures, acquisitions and divestitures or other strategic financial decisions
  • Monitor the Firm’s transfer pricing policies and related documentation such as management fees
  • Provide assistance on domestic and international statutory audits with third party vendors
  • Work closely with related parties in the exchange of information and data, including proper compliance with applicable tax sharing agreements
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax payments and ensure recognition of all available deductions
  • Research new and proposed legislative changes and associated reporting requirements, and tax issues relating to acquisitions (and taxaudits) impacting Ryan’s tax position
  • Ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place over accounting for income taxes
  • Prepare and present reports to executive management providing insight and advice related to various tax strategies


  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) or Masters (M.S.) in Accounting. Master’s Degree in Business Taxation preferred
  • Certified Public Account (CPA) and/or Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) required
  • 15+ years of related experience with at least 5 years in a public accounting firm in tax preparing federal partnership and corporation, state and international tax
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
  • Proficiency in US GAAP guidance on accounting for income taxes
  • Strong and proven track record of leadership skills
  • Experience in high touch, customer service-oriented environment with the highest standards of accuracy and precision
  • Must be articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills to all levels of leadership and Board members, in addition to being highly organized, driven and self-motivated
  • Ability to think creatively and lead while being hands-on working with team members, Finance Department management and peers throughout Ryan
  • Experience with Workday Finance is a plus
