Position Description

The Vice President of Software Engineering will lead the integration, development and implementation a single, cohesive OmniChannel / contact center technology stack across the United Health Group enterprise.

Primary responsibilities will include:

 

  • Lead the implementation of an integrated Genesys/NICE telephony solution
  • Drive the successful implementations across multiple Lines of Business
  • Understand the needs of the customer, identify opportunities and make recommendations to enable critical business needs
  • Collaborate with the business to determine priorities
  • Act as a trusted partner and drive and influence the creation of innovative products/services
  • Oversee the process, engagement, delivery, and operations of IT solutions
  • Act as an escalation point and advocate for the customer during the solution process
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels to ensure the customer and solution team is kept abreast of any key changes in strategy or solution direction
  • Maintain relationships with appropriate technology partners (internal and external) in developing, deploying, and supporting technical solutions

 

Candidates will possess:

 

  • 15 + years in the information technology profession and 10 + years serving in a software engineering role
  • Understanding of the Contact Center/Telephony domain across multiple channels and with multiple technology vendors 
  • Experience managing software engineering teams using the Genesys platform/product line of significant value
  • 5 + years of experience serving in a leadership role in a large, global, matrixed organization
  • Proven experiences using the Agile/Scrum methodology to predictably deliver software
  • Working knowledge of Agile & DevOps concepts, including continuous integration and deployment
  • Track record of cultivating and maintaining long-term productive relationships with both business and technology leaders
  • Success driving multiple major change initiatives across complex organizations using systems level thinking
  • Proven customer perspective and end-to-end systems thinking (for both business process and technology)
  • Proven leadership skills, evidenced by obtaining results through cross-functional teams in different geographies and cultures
  • History of planning, managing, and implementing large-scale, strategic technology imperatives that positively impact customers
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate within a large corporate environment ensuring business and technology leaders understand opportunities, risks, and strategic positioning
  • Proven collaboration skills relative to creation of plans to achieve strategic objectives
  • Successful history of driving automation into processes
  • Technology agnostic and forward looking approach to solutions
