Key Responsibilities: Strategy & Revenue Ownership
- Define and execute the go-to-market ad sales strategy across all owned & operated pages and properties
- Build the monetization model end-to-end: pricing, packaging, rate cards, media kits, and sponsorship tiers for O&O inventory
- Identify new revenue opportunities-sponsorships, branded content, custom ad products-and develop programs to capture them
- Set quarterly and annual revenue targets; own the forecast and report performance to leadership
- Stay on top of market trends, competitive landscape, and advertiser needs to continuously evolve the sales strategy
Selling & Closing
- Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and pitching to negotiation and close
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of brand and agency relationships, tracked rigorously in CRM
- Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations backed by audience data, site analytics, and performance metrics
- Negotiate contracts, insertion orders, and custom programs that maximize revenue while delivering value to advertisers
- Hit or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual bookings targets-this role is measured on dollars closed
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with content, product, and creative teams to develop compelling ad products and branded content opportunities on our pages
- Work with ad operations to ensure seamless campaign execution, delivery tracking, and optimization
- Collaborate with analytics/data teams to build advertiser-facing reporting, case studies, and proof-of-performance materials
- Provide market feedback to product and editorial teams to inform roadmap and content strategy
Team & Growth
- Serve as the founding sales hire with a clear path to building and leading a team as revenue scales
- Establish repeatable sales processes, playbooks, and infrastructure for a growing sales org
- Track and manage the advertiser pipeline to inform and exceed business goals
- Mentor and develop junior sales hires as the team expands
Qualifications and Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in business marketing, Communications, or related field
- Experience in creator economy, influencer marketing or media network environments
- 7+ years of experience in progressive sales within digital media, advertising, marketing or entertainment
- 5+ years of people leadership experience
- Strong networking of agency, brand, and media industry relationships
