OVERVIEWThe Vice President-Sales has the ultimate responsibility of achieving Sales goals and objectives set on a Brand and Company level.  He/she also has the ultimate responsibility of the performance of the Sales force, in which he indirectly supervises through the Regional Sales Managers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES• Formulates long range sales objectives, plans, and programs for related markets • Integrates sales objectives, plans, and programs into the overall strategic plan for the Company• Reviews and authorizes objectives of the field and office Sales Department staff to ensure compliance with Company objectives; monitors and reviews the execution of these plans and programs• Develops and maintains long and short-term sales forecasts, builder recruitment objectives, market penetration projections, and estimating activity• Evaluates, hires, and trains competent staff to the levels required to meet short and long-term plans• Develops appropriate salary and commission plans and budgets within group and Company policy• Reviews estimates and makes price adjustments within designated authority• Submits annual budget that is adequate for meeting Sales Department and Company objectives, while remaining within guidelines for profitability• Develops and administers builder recruitment programs; identifies and fills open markets• Insures the effective use of advertising, consistent with Company policies and within budget constraints
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS• Ability to analyze market conditions and drive results• Proven sales aptitude; able to “close the deal”• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal—a “people person”• Ability to effectively coach, mentor, and motivate the Sales force• Ability to use software such as MS Office applications, CRM and the ability to learn in-house software • Must be willing to travel extensively
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or other related field, plus 10 years of sales experience in the industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
