Mobile-XL™ is a California-based technology company focused on building value added services to mobile users worldwide. Mobile-XL™ provides emerging markets of Africa, Latin America and the Middle-East with affordable access to communication and relevant information with the ultimate goal of putting these areas on par with parts of the world that have readily available access to PCs, the internet and WAP. It provides customers a one-stop solution for access to a wide variety of information, entertainment and business related services, through established relationships with content providers such as Facebook, AFP, Weatherbug, XE, among many others.
The Vice President of Product Management will be primarily responsible for driving the process for collecting, analyzing, defining and prioritizing the market requirements for the product line, and for disseminating priority product requirements to the product development organization. As the company gains traction in new markets, the Vice President of Product Management, will play a major role, driving the product mix and corresponding pricing methodology and/or respective business model, competitive positioning and functionality roadmap based upon direct customer feedback. He she will also invest appropriate time interacting with potential partners, customers and other constituent groups to remain current on trends and shifts in the marketplace that impact the product direction, as well as to represent the company in the marketplace as a spokesperson.
Duties to Include
Manage and refine long-term product strategy and product planning process
Drive product / services roadmap and product / services definition including corresponding business model an pricing.
Develop sales kit information to support product training and sales presentation
Develop, refine and execute Product Plan, as well as, annual objectives for the Product Management team.
Track and improve key site performance indicators (KPI’s).
Evaluate new organic and non-organic product opportunities, including revenue and cost estimates, target markets and fit with current product offering.
Develop market research strategy to ensure that short and long term product plan is aligned with customer and market needs.
Collaborate with all cross functional teams, in particular engineering, marketing, sales and customer support, to build, launch and maintain products.
8-10 years’ experience in product management, with 4-6years’ experience in the telecommunications space.
Proven success with the conception, definition and launch of multiple web/mobile products and services incl. corresponding business models / tariff structures.
Extensive experience in developing and validating product strategy plans, defining product requirements and managing products in high growth emerging mobile markets.
Extensive project management experience of cross functional teams in product management, R&D, sales, marketing incl. ability to integrate off sharing partners.
Ability to adapt to multi culture customer market environments.
Ability to synthesize complex business tradeoffs and develop prioritizations among numerous competition objectives.
Ability to work at a high pace and in an entrepreneurial environment.
Ability to grasp complex concepts and develop clear, concise, synthesized recommendations.
Ability to think at a high-level and set date specific objectives that are tied to strategic goals.
Ability to work well across the organization with a strong appreciation for product development and technical teams by bridging the divide between R&D and sales/marketing.
BA/BS required. MBA preferred.
