Job Description

Bright Horizons is seeking an experienced and visionary VP of Product to lead our product strategy and development at our Education Benefits company. Based out of Newton, MA; remote applicants will be considered for relocation.


Primary Purpose


As the VP of Product, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our offerings and enhancing the experience of our users. Reporting directly to the SVP and Chief Operating Officer of EdAdvisory Services at Bright Horizons, you will be responsible for defining the product vision and roadmap while leading a multi-functional team to ensure successful execution.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities


  • Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Lead and mentor the UX, product analytics, product management, and data science teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure alignment and effective execution of product initiatives.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback analysis to identify opportunities for product enhancement and growth.
  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products on time and within budget.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions, prioritize features, and measure the success of product enhancements.
  • Establish and monitor key product metrics, KPIs, and performance indicators to track product performance and iterate on strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to maintain our company's competitive edge in the market.
  • Represent the product team in executive meetings, providing updates on product performance, strategy, and future plans.

Job Requirements – Education/Experience


Bachelor's Degree - Required

Master's Degree - MBA - Preferred

10 years of progressive experience in product management inclusive of leadership - Required

at least 5 years in executive level product leadership roles - Required

Would relevant experience be considered in lieu of applicable degree?


Minimum additional years of experience that would be considered in lieu of the applicable degree:

Yes - 12 years

Additional Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Proven track record of at least 8 years of progressive experience in product management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated leadership building a product management function and establishing product management best practices including UX, Product Analytics, and Technical Product Management functions
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling SAAS product offerings including introducing new revenue growth
  • 3-5 years experience in education technology is required; established relationships among Learning and Development leaders is a plus
  • Experience in the benefits industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on creating innovative and customer-centric products.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of user experience design principles, product analytics, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
