Higginbotham & Associates, a Top 25 national insurance broker, has an exciting leadership opportunity in its personal insurance division. As Vice President, Personal Lines Operations, you work closely with regional and executive managers to manage all non-sales activity and personnel. The agency is rapidly expanding in every department, organically and by acquisition, including this group which serves the needs of individuals and families with product offerings for home and auto as well as farms and ranches. Such exponential growth increases the need for your expertise to be dedicated to key areas such as client management, service deliverables, technology, employee development, operations and best practices.
From the outside, the personal lines division looks sizable with teams in multiple offices in multiple states. However, if you go a layer deeper, you find a culture built on small, close knit teams where each person, no matter the position, is involved in the day-to-day activities of the business. To be successful in this role, you need a similar ‘in the weeds’ management philosophy.
1. Team Experience: Support the culture of growth and career progression. Mentor team members. Promote a ‘best in class’ client service platform. Leverage technology to drive consistency and create efficiencies.
2. Quality Control and Workflow: Build metrics and benchmarks to measure quality and efficiencies. Monitor key performance indicators. Develop and document training programs. Serve as a resource for teams.
3. Organizational Planning: Participate in strategic planning initiatives. Communicate updates and results on key initiatives. Work with regional leaders and the executive team members to share best practices and other resources.
