KnollStudio is a standalone, specialty business within Knoll, Inc. We are responsible for the original classic furniture pieces of Knoll designed by such famous designers as Mies Van der Rohe, Harry Bertoia, Jens Risom, Eero Saarinen, Richard Schultz and Warren Platner. Virtually all our products are made outside of Knoll. We source through over 300 suppliers both domestically and internationally from 11 countries throughout the world.

Vice President KnollStudio Operations

We are currently looking for a senior leader to oversee a complex network of international and domestic vendors. Reporting to the President of KnollStudio, this role will be responsible for managing all facets of operations for KnollStudio North America, including purchasing, inventory management, quality and logistics.

Required Skills

Required Skills:

  • BA or BS Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field required, MBA Degree preferred
  • Minimum 7+ years leadership experience focused on sales and operations planning, supply and demand balancing, operations management, production control, or inventory management experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Commitment to high professional ethical standards
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives
  • Ability to look at situations from several points of view; problem solver
  • Appropriate delegator of responsibilities and accountabilities
  • Change and process improvement champion
  • Experience with financial management; P & L
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in excel, word, outlook
  • Familiarity with Oracle preferred
  • 30+% travelrequired (international and domestic travel)

  • Coordinate, manage and monitor all KnollStudio operations functions; helping internal departments to work efficiently in cooperation with one another
  • Develop and manage parameters to measure how efficiently organization is performing
  • Create and lead a “pro” client/customer centric performance driven operating culture that strives to exceed goals, objectives and expectations
  • Provide a working environment that allows all employees to reach their full potential
  • Organize recruitment and placement of required staff
  • Utilize financial data to improve profitability and operation efficiencies
  • Focus on constant process improvement initiatives and clear communication of policies to maximize performance
  • Mentor and train operations leaders in using tools and adopting principles that will lead to operational excellence. Focus on key metrics; safety, quality, delivery, performance/customer satisfaction, efficiency, profitability
  • Oversight of all manufacturing compliance including ISO
  • Ensure that all day to day activities run smoothly
  • Establish and maintain rapport with vendors and clients
  • Participate as a member of the Senior Leadership team to align strategies and companywide goals with internal resources
  • Vendor assessment and management
