VISION: Turnaround opportunity to lead this manufacturing operation to double production over next five years. Niche design and manufacturing operation has excellent upside as a business that serves global specialty markets. This role requires a leader with a record of upgrading productivity and quality standards through the introduction of lean "best practices", team development, and hands-on leadership.

OPPORTUNITY: Reporting to the President, and partnering with Engineering and Sales, you will lead a team of 80+ in purchasing, materials management, inventory control, production, quality, logistics, and facilities. Business model is engineering, production, assembly and shipping with some components outsourced. Key challenges are:

  • Establishing and communicating the direction of operations, turning strategy into actions
  • Building on continuing process development to improve KPIs (OTD, scrap reduction, etc.)
  • Lean manufacturing principles – redouble efforts to improve and/or create more efficient operations process.
  • Strengthen teamwork among operations associates in sharing common, understood objectives linked to the company's success.
  • Bringing problem solving skills and experience to bear in daily operations challenges.

REQUIREMENTS: BS/BA required (ideally in Engineering); CPIM, Six Sigma, or related certification is an advantage. Seeking 10+ years of high-volume, component manufacturing experience with 3+ years as VP or Director of manufacturing and supply chain within an engineered product setting. Must have examples of contributions and accomplishments; must have a lean manufacturing background. NO RELOCATION.

REWARD: $120-140,000 base to start, bonus potential, with full benefits package.
