Vice President of Sales

JOB PURPOSE:

This individual is responsible and accountable for achieving the revenue, profit, and utilization targets for this highly successful and rapidly growing global capital equipment manufacturer throughout the North American Region. The Vice President of Sales is responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing the sales organization, managing its P&L and increasing profits as well as market share.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and manage Sales, Business Development, and market share for the North America region.

  • Increase the share of market for Sales & Service by maximizing the entire portfolio of capital equipment
  • Developing and Management of the Sales Channels which includes the direct sales team as well as distribution agents
  • Define and execute the Regional, Sub-regional and Country Strategies together with the Region Heads and SAS Managers
  • Build-up of regional competences and supporting local sales manager all along the SQ process for the entire portfolio
  • Driver of the regional integration of the company's teams and facilitate the cooperation between them and the requiredsupport functions of the Business Units
  • Build bridges between local and central functions as well as with business areas / business units in order to capture the full market potential and all possible synergies.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs with analysis of the demand for the company's capital equipment offerings / solutions (market developments, trends, competition, etc.) and pro-actively share it within Region / Sub-region.
  • Build strong stakeholder management on all levels and implement Key Account Management where applicable.
  • Develop a strong sales and service organization and sales channels in order to increase sales and profitability
  • Ensure professional sales leadership, leads and sales opportunity management.

Developing high quality business strategies and business plans ensuring they produce the desired results and are consistent with the Company short-term and long-term objectives

Manage a team of Account Managers to ensure sales objectives are met and growth in the market is sustainable.

Continue professional development of sales personnel through additional training as well as maintaining a strong safety culture.

Communicates and participates in solving problems related to the company's capital equipment manufacturing business.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

Minimum of seven to ten years of experience managing a team of sales professionals, preferably in a capital equipment manufacturing environment on an international level.

Demonstrates leadership as an effective role model for the department in tasks both internal and external to the company.

Excellent communication skills and relationship building skills to effectively work with a variety of people and personalities; able to communicate clearly and effectively in person and in writing internally and externally.

Ability to work with minimal supervision and make decisions independently, effectively, and creatively within established company guidelines.

Strong organizational skills and an ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate, delegate, and manage work simultaneously.
