The Vice President of Finance and Accounting has direct reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. This position is responsible for the Credit Union's financial health and fiscal operating results. The VP Finance and Accounting has responsibility for leading and managing the Credit Union's Controller/Accounting and Finance functions. This position prepares, presents, and interprets financialreports to management and the Board of Directors. The VP Finance and Accounting is responsible for effectively managing the budgeting process. This position also counsels management on fiscal control and profitability of operations. The VP Finance and Accounting develops and prescribes adequate financial procedures to provide the basis for management decisions and control. As the senior financial partner to the CFO, the VP Finance and Accounting is also responsible for providing reporting and value-added analysis of the Credit Union's investments, asset/liability position and credit quality (for example, concentration risk, credit performance, etc.).
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, and CPA. Substantially equivalent CPA-type credentials may be considered for the right candidate, and approximately 10+ years in a strategic Finance and/or Accounting role. At least 3+ years of proven experience with a bank or credit union, with experience in a multi-state organization a plus. Professional understanding of the application of asset and liability management techniques. Must be fully capable in the analysis of alternate capital investments, and be experienced in managing the external auditors, regulators and advisors. Must have the ability to effectively utilize ALM analytical tools and tactics (including margin/spread maintenance, rate/risk analysis, maximization of earning assets and provision for structured growth).
