Reporting to the COO of Morgan Olson, the Vice President of Engineering will have overall engineering leadership responsibility for approximately 60 team members. These team members are responsible for manufacturing engineering, base product design, new product design and prototype assembly for all step vans manufactured in three production plants located in Michigan, Tennessee and Virginia.
The Vice President, Engineering will have responsibility for and provide overall direction to engineering companywide. This includes core product engineering, the research & development center and current product engineering design services. It is imperative to achieve and maintain the highest level of service for both internal and external customers, while staying aligned with the strategic plan of the organization. This will include providing technical oversight and guidance for the engineering staff, programs and projects to maintain adequate engineering capacity to assure successful execution in support of business requirements for short- and long-term needs.

The successful candidate will have a background in design and assembly of metal fabricated products for the transportation industry and a range of mechanical and electronic components used throughout a variety of industries.
This individual must be the ultimate team player and create a service-oriented culture where accuracy, response time and efficient design practices are developed and recognized.
An undergraduate degree in engineering, preferably mechanical, is required; an advanced degree is desirable
