Our Greater Boston startup client is seeking a leader who can scale their engineering organization from 100 engineers to several hundred within 18months. Experience in accomplishing their geometric growth objective is primary to the role and creating a fun, exceptional work environment where diverse engineering teams thrive is paramount.


·        Leading, coaching and mentoring growing teams of software engineers, operations and data scientists

·        Driving technical programs and providing leadership in an innovative and fast-paced Agile environment

·        Taking responsibility for the overall strategy, planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects

·        Delivering and shipping revenue generating products, feature and function enhancements

·        Working closely with product management teams to ensure product excellence to capture market share

·        Advocating engineering brand internally and externally, bridging internal silos, growing current engineering team from 100 to several hundred in 18months

·        Coalescing different company silos to be in tune with what engineering can realistically accomplish and setting the bar to reach stretch goals

·        Drive results by working smart


·        Degree(s) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

·        Start-up experience highly preferred

·        Experience growing a startup organization from hundreds of people to thousands of people greatly desired

·        Demonstrated technical leadership with significant exposure to growing organizations, enabling process and growing software engineering teams (career mentoring, retention, advancement)

·        Must have a passion for building and scaling engineering organizations, establishing Agile processes and measures

·        SaaS product passion and experience building large-scale, web to consumer SaaS products

·        Experience shipping successful revenue generating products

·        Strong technical knowledge, not necessarily hands on any more, but significant enough skill to understand critical path challenges and product delivery implications hopefully with the latest and greatest open source distributed systems and architecture knowledge

·        Eloquent and savvy leader who can find optimal execution for goals and objectives held by all stakeholders: founders, investors, and employees

·        Must have interest in finding win opportunities for all
