What the VP of Corporate Partnerships will do:
Orlando Magic: 

  • Develop and execute a short- and long-term Corporate Partnerships business plan
  • Create and develop an overall revenue budget for Corporate Partnerships specifically allocating revenue targets for all Orlando Magic media, radio, community relations programs, promotions and events
  • Recruit, manage, supervise, motivate and provide leadership to the direct reports within the Corporate Partnerships department using evaluation, training, coaching and situational practices
  • Develop a compensation plan that focuses on overall department goals, personal accountability and the ability and opportunity for sales staff to overachieve
  • Maintain existing and develop new national and local account partnerships to further improve Corporate Partnership alliances to maximize sales and increase revenue
  • Maximize revenue and brand equity with the Orlando Magic on both a national and regional level by focusing on the NBA’s Top Sponsorship categories
  • Responsible for all Corporate Partnerships Sales and Operations including budget formulation and control, capital expenditures and financialreporting
  • Evaluate sales strategies and development of innovative partnership opportunities for the Corporate Partnerships department to meet or exceed all revenue goals
  • Work with the Corporate Partnerships Activation team to build a synergetic and collaborative team environment
  • Attend meetings with Partnerships Development Managers and their partner accounts as needed
  • Develop new business categories and prospect targets for Corporate Partnerships sales team
  • Collaborate with the Activation and Marketing teams to craft cross-promotional opportunities for partners in order to obtain new revenue and facilitate more value for the participating partners
  • Maximize revenue by developing, leading and maintaining all synergistic relationships as it relates to Corporate Partnerships interdepartmental programs that are critical to the development of revenue
  • Build an environment for personal accountability, integrity and personal achievement
  • Work in partnership with the Premium Sales Department to identify and improve Suite and Loge renewals
  • Assist the Activation teams with analyzing all existing inventory (rate card) and potential new inventory (organization assets) within Media, Marketing, Community, Game Operations, Amway Center and the new Orlando Event Center to maximize revenues
  • Work with the league office in effort to drive innovation for team growth opportunities with new and current partners that help make the team the most ground breaking property in sports
  • All other duties as assigned

Solar Bears:

  • Assist the Solar Bears Corporate Partnership department to drive new revenue
  • Assist in generating new revenue for the Solar Bears as part of an overall revenue strategy
  • Develop efforts to target a category in coordinated opportunities for all properties
  • Provide guidance, leadership and support to the Corporate sales team in partnership with the team President and coordination with the Corporate Partnership Activation

Magic Gaming: 

  • Assist in generating new revenue for Magic Gaming as part of an overall revenue strategy
  • Develop efforts to target a category in a coordinated opportunity for all properties
  • Assist in building and developing an overall revenue budget for Magic Gaming specific to sponsorships, Twitch stream advertising and social media monetization

What the VP of Corporate Partnerships needs to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Business Management preferred 
  • Minimum of 10 years related sales experience in sports or agency
  • Minimum of 5 years of Senior Management experiencerequired
  • Proven successful sales experience with national client relationships and alliances
  • Consistent track record of managing and renewing major accounts
  • Thorough knowledge of good leadership and business principles relating to strategic planning, operations, budgeting, marketing, employee relations and staffing required
  • Ability to motivate others to reach financial and production goals
  • Confirmed strategic leadership skills
  • Ability to service a variety of internal and external customers, manage multiple tasks, projects and accounts
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, strong negotiating skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments and organizations
  • Strong relationship skills
  • Professional in appearance and business savvy
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours as this role is required to work every magic home game as well as other events

Bonus Points:

  • Academic training in business and sports management
  • MBA preferred
  • Previous experience in a Corporate Partnership Sales role for major sports franchises
