Business Development is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Business Development VP to lead the Business Winning Team in the $6B+ BAE Systems Electronic Systems (ES) Sector, one of the leading Aerospace and Defense companies. As the Business Winning (BW) VP, you will report directly to the Vice President of Business Development for the ES Sector. In this role, you will lead an award winning, inspiring and focused team of capture and proposal professionals who provide critical winning skills across a vibrant, growing and diverse portfolio. Primary responsibilities of this role is to help our capture teams develop winning strategies, execute and improve our market position and deliver discriminating proposals that clearly highlight our ability to enhance mission effectiveness. Our objective is to grow the probability of winning (Pwin) every day.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Serve as an influential member of the Business Development leadership team and a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team to develop and shape growth strategies; serve as an active member of cross-sector councils.
Lead and develop a diverse, high-performance team of BW Strategists, Competitive Intelligence, and Proposal Development professionals by example, exemplifying the BAE culture and values, creating an environment that inspires innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Mentor capture teams to develop effective business cases that align to business strategies, build strategic relationships, execute customer engagement plans and drive technology development plans leveraging best practices from across BAE.
Mentor capture teams to develop and continually refine marketing plans and capture strategies for individual opportunities, as well as for campaign level marketing plans and strategies to drive business growth.
Mentor capture efforts, to include developing overall win strategy, shaping the deal with customer, developing teaming strategies, understanding pricing and driving winning price, assessing customer requirements and competitor strategies.
Promote and support early and accurate Competitive Intelligence and Price to Win.
Emphasize mission awareness and drive solutions to provide value to the customer's end user, enhancing mission success.
Own, update and add value to the BAE Systems capture process. Utilize color reviews and assessments to refine and improve the capture/campaign.
Support ES Business Development requirements through training, development, data requests, strategy meetings, and networking opportunities
Engage with and inform executive leadership and advocate internally for the actions and commitments necessary to win.Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field. MBA preferred.
- US Citizen, current Secret Clearance, Top Secret preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of Defense Industry Capture Management experience.
- Record of accomplishment of leading new business captures in excess of $200M.
- Knowledge of Government/DoD contracting and current acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors.
- Demonstrated track record of planning, organizing and facilitating major color team reviews such as Black Hats, Blue Teams, Red Teams, etc.
- Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recommend sound business decisions based on data, insights, and critical thinking.
- Experience in Mentoring, Coaching and Training in BD/BW
- Capable of tailoring industry best practices to ensure lean, effective business winning processes.
- Master's degree and 20+ years' experience in leadership roles
- Current Top Secret Clearance (SAP billets Preferred)
- Brown or Black Belt equivalent Certification in Capture Management, per emerging industry standards
- Complex profit & loss (P&L) experience
- Business development Lead for large competitive opportunities valued at >$200M (pre phase 0 thru 1A)
Full-Time Salary Range: $188900 - $321100

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
