The Vice President of Adult Behavioral Health Services is responsible for optimizing the operational, financial, and programmatic excellence of adult behavioral services provided across multiple Wheeler clinic locations, encompassing comprehensive and integrated primary care and behavioral health services. The Vice President of Adult Behavioral Health Services provides infrastructure, systems, tools and leadership capacity to drive meaningful change and further fully integrated services, employing best practices in measurement and performance improvement, and is comfortable utilizing data to drive improvement. The Vice President of Adult Behavioral Health Services is a member of the Organizational Management Team (OMT) and participates in planning organization strategy, sustainability and growth. This position maintains productive, influential relationships with public and private funders and other external stakeholders.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
A Master’s or Doctoral degree in a behavior health discipline plus a minimum of 10 years of management experience in established leadership capacity in organization proving integrated medical and behavioral heath services, including skills required to successfully performs the planning, direction, reporting, clinical and administrative responsibilities of the position. Clinical competency and experience in the development, management and delivery of adult mental health and substance abuse treatment services within integrated primary care settings is required. Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and primary care behavioral health integration with multidisciplinary teaming is strongly preferred. Additionally, experience in the following areas is strongly preferred: 1) Value-based or alternative payment models focused on improving quality, care experience, health equity and/ or lower cost; and 2) Utilization of population health and care management approaches to address population-specific needs and/or health care gaps and improve targeted health outcomes. Interpersonal skills are needed to lead and motivate, address personnel situations, interact with consumers, purchasers, other providers and stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides leadership and direction for adult behavioral health services within an integrated primary care and behavioral health model of care by implementing and sustaining best and evidence base practice, such as specific models supported by quality assurance, as standard care in all prevention, intervention, and treatment programs.
Collaborates closely with health center leadership and medical directors to ensure integration of primary and behavioral health services, in a manner that is seamless to the patient.
Develops and manages department based innovative and competitive grant applications that result in service awards.
Seeks new opportunities for program growth in broad area of adult behavioral health and integrated primary care and behavioral health.
Supports and promotes integrated care models of service delivery within the department.
Interprets, manages and consistently maintains organizational policy and procedure, regulatory, accreditation, contractual and licensing requirements in the department.
Ensures employees strive to achieve organizational/departmental and contractual targets and outcomes in the area of financial, client, employee, internal processes and compliance.
Prepares and controls the department expense budget and maximizes revenue generation and collection to contribute to a cost effective, efficient operation and positive bottom line.
Provides guidance, coaching and support to direct reports on recruitment and hiring, employee engagement, including staff development, recognition and retention, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
Maintains productive, influential relationships with public and private funders and policy makers and within trade associations.
Participates actively in strategic planning and positioning and Organizational Management Team.
Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
