Vice President of Academic Affairs

The Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs oversees all academic affairs of the College and provides supervision and coordination of curriculum and student academic support programs and services.


  • Collaborate with College leadership to develop and implement a plan to support the Institutional vision for innovative, technology-aided, high-quality teaching and learning, and a pedagogical culture of excellence
  • Supervise all off-campus, online, international and post-traditional teaching and learning; oversee all academic administrative functions of these programs program related to marketing, recruiting, enrollment, and studentsupport services
  • Work with the Executive Vice President and strategic plan implementation teams, to explore and develop new programs and academic initiatives
  • Provide strategic analysis and ongoing revision of curriculum
  • Supervise the work of College deans
  • Lead the effort to identify, recruit, assess, hire, develop and orient qualified faculty
  • Ensure consistency of academic quality and integrity across program lines and channels
  • Develop metrics, data collection systems, and processes to improve academic quality, studentretention, and graduation rates
  • Develop and recommends performance metrics, benchmarked against peer institutions and industry standards
  • Champion and advocate for the best, most effective studentexperience for all students especially off-campus, online, international, and post-traditional
  • Collaborate with faculty and College leadership to ensure high quality ongoing assessment and development of student learning outcomes in all programs and the implementation of steps to insure continuous quality improvement in program delivery
  • Build strategic partnerships and represent New York through active engagement with professional associations, local/regional/national and international organizations including education
  • Review and recommend changes in policy and procedure
  • Monitor departmental and worker productivity
  • Implement new directives for growth as directed by the Projects Team and Presidents Council
  • Establish and review guidelines for personnel evaluations, recruitment, and advancement in areas of oversight
  • Work as a team member to ensure compliance with state, federal, and accrediting rules and standards
  • Coordinate with CFO to assure budget monitoring and with HR for adherence to employment policies
  • Serve on the Cabinet


  • Terminal degree. higher education teaching and administrative experience
  • Minimum 5 years? experience in higher education teaching and leadership
  • Strong interpersonal, public speaking and writing skills
  • Ability to represent the College in a professional manner
  • Work well with multiple constituencies
  • Ability to effectively solve problems and initiate and implement projects independently
  • Goal and detail oriented
  • Effective at managing multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently, sometimes telecommute
  • Maintain a positive attitude that will promote a healthy cultural climate within the faculty and on campus
