JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the site taking into account new products, new processes, and new work methods to assure consistent performance to goals and objectives.
  • Implement tactical plans and actions to address rapidly changing business conditions.
  • Implement processes to drive site performance in Safety, Quality, and Productivity to best in class.
  • Drive out the “Cost of Poor Quality” continuously.
  • Maintain an environment where all associates are encouraged to take appropriate risks, participate in decision-making and continuous improvement activities, and perform to higher standards continuously.
  • Foster the concept of Continuous Improvement through personal involvement and leading by example.
  • Provide candid and timely feedback to all associates regularly and perform yearly performance reviews with the direct staff. Create personnel development and succession plans.
  • Maintain an environment utilizing positive employee relations methods. Work to ensure associates are being treated fairly and consistently. Develop and foster effective communication streams to ensure consistent and accurate messaging is in place for all associates.
  • Meet/exceed the yearly site goals and objectives as set by executive leadership team
  • Develop the operating staff in techniques of Leadership, Process Improvement, and Self Awareness.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned in support of the business.

Required Skills

  • Lean Manufacturing: Ability to utilize lean manufacturing principles and techniques. Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot, identify the root cause of, and develop and implement effective solutions to problems.
  • Project Management: Ability to develop, communicate and implement project management plans. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to various levels within the organization.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Required Experience

  • Technical Experience: Position requires minimum of fifteen years’ experience as follows, including responsibility for or exposure to: manufacturing, engineering, industrial engineering, production planning as well as 8 – 10 years’ experience as a line supervisor, unit/area manager, superintendent
  • 15 + Years of experience
  • 4 Year Technical Degree Required (Engineering Degree Preferred)
