In its Corporate & Institutional Banking and International Financial Services activities, BNP Paribas also enjoys top positions in Europe, a strong presence in the Americas as well as a solid and fast-growing business in Asia-Pacific.   Business Overview: Corporate Platform IT within CP&S ITO develops, improves, and maintains the wide range of applications across the payments, loans, trade finance and data analytics domains, leveraging a mix of both global and regional platforms in accordance with the strategic objectives of the business and operations areas.   The IT project Team is involved in all phases of the ops line’s projects, from the scoping and analysis of business needs to the prototyping and testing of the solution. The team closely with project stakeholders within and outside the ops line / ITO-CP (i.e. business lines, Specialized Operations, Operations, BRM, Organization team, IT Development / Support, Agile, Governance, IT Transversal, Finance, and other functions) to ensure that ITO-CP delivers quality service and meets the business sponsor’s expectations.   The IT Project Manager facilitates the collaboration between the business / ops line and the IT teams; they contribute to articulating business / operational needs and defining the appropriate IT solution. The IT Project Manager will contribute to the enhancement of IT platforms and applications.   Responsibilities: Manage IT projects / initiatives involving the development and implementation ofIT solutions that enhance the ops line’s efficiency, productivity, and overall operational performance: prioritize, structure, plan, and execute projects in accordance with ITO-CP’s project management methodology and standards, as follows:

  • Conduct project meetings / discussions with project sponsor and stakeholders
  • Define project scope, budget, resources, deliverables, and timeline
  • Ensure timely completion of quality deliverables, identify and manage dependencies / critical path, monitor progress, and report project status to the various project committee meetings
  • Devise contingency plans for risks and issues identified / escalated by the project team
  • Set, communicate, and continually manage project expectations / success criteria with team members and stakeholders
  • Ensure that the project team applies ITO-CP methodology and standards in project management and governance
  • Coach, motivate, and / or supervise project team members / contractors; manage relationship with vendors in the context of specific projects

Responsibilities Cont’d:

  • Ensure that project momentum / direction is maintained by keeping the team focused on the end outcome / objective
  • Drive change management and support Operations teams during deployment / transition phases


Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Extensive project management experience
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills to develop and deliver informative progress reports, proposals, and presentations
  • Leadership / team-building skills - ability to build strong working relationships and inspire team members to execute and successfully complete the project
  • Breadth of knowledge in the financial services industry with transversal knowledge of a wide range of banking products and processes, including but not limited to Credit Management, Lending Operations, ALM, Cash Management, Payments, Trade Finance, Management Accounting, and Financial Reporting
  • Experience with banking applications (e.g. loan / credit management, tradefinance, and cash management / payment applications) 
  • Fluency and solid understanding in IT issues
  • Good organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Experience in business analysis
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills – i.e., the ability to anticipate problems and solve them quickly and effectively
  • Proficiency in verbal / presentation and written communication skills
  • A self-starter with the ability to prioritize multiple objectives, work under time pressure / constraints, and take ownership for completing assigned tasks
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to ask penetrating questions and detect unstated assumptions, and resolve conflicts
  • Strong client service orientation / skills

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification
