The VP of Human Resources works closely with the Chief Executive Officer to develop and implement Talent Management strategies, tools and best practices that will facilitate the achievement of the organization's mission. S/he will develop a strong HR function ? one that is dedicated to supporting the professional growth of each staff member, and that leverages the skills of a deeply committed workforce.
The Vice President of Human Resources will:
? Create and drive talent management strategies, processes and programs (i.e. performance management, people reviews, development activities, succession planning, etc).
? Drive and manage organizational change, creating a unified culture.
? Lead talent management, organizational development, diversity, employee relations and employee development efforts.
? Develop, lead and oversee a human capital strategy in attracting, developing, inspiring and retaining the right people with the right skills to achieve strategic results.
? Have a strategic view of Human Resources and talent and be a change agent who will foster collaboration among all the groups and individuals who make up the organization.
? Plan, develop, direct and evaluate the HR function and performance in support of the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization.
? Build HR systems to manage and support a complex HR function.
? SupportHR functions across multiple locations throughout the state.
? Partner with the Human Resources committee and Board of Directors.
? Identify and advise senior management on important legislation and competitive practices (e.g. benefits and compensation)
? Ensure compliance with specific laws and internal policies.
? A Master?s degree with 7-10 years senior level human resources/talent management experience OR a Bachelor?s degree with 15-20 years senior level human resources/talent management experience. Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification is strongly preferred.
? Previous human resources and talent management leadership experience (corporate and/or nonprofit) with operations known for progressive Human Resources practices and policies.
? Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to effect and manage change throughout the organization.
? Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver results in a matrix organization.
? The proven ability to build constructive partnerships and collaboration among diverse constituencies and ability to maintain effective communication throughout the organization.
? Technical expertise in Human Resources core competencies such as compensation and benefits, employment law, talent management, performance management and/or workforce development.
