Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Multiple positions available. Design and implement enhancements to the Firms’ Securities Settlement platforms. Participate in the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for software written with Java, SQL, RESTful web services, RMI, JMS messaging and web UIs. Lead design and architecture discussions. Participate in strategy setting with local and global members of management team. Analyze and assess new projects and enhancement requests. Manage multiple development projects end-to-end, across the Securities Settlement space. Oversee employees and consultants locally and remotely to deliver projects and platform enhancements and respond to support issues. Manage careers of junior employees locally, including holding regular coaching and status meetings. Translate business and technical requirements into well-engineered business applications based on object oriented design. Interface with internal stakeholders/end users and other development teams.

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, such as Industrial Engineering. Five (5) years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or three (3) years of experience with a Master’s degree in the job offered or related position. Must have five (5) years of experience with Bachelor’s or three (3) years of experience with Master’s with: developing software applications utilizing UNIX and SQL; using object oriented programming languages, such as Java, C#, or similar to supportfinancial services applications; full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, prioritization, coding, testing, release and support; problem-solving in a development or production environment, including experience observing patterns, analyzing root cause and suggesting ideas to resolve issues; and executing database querying and analysis using Structured Query Language (SQL). Must have three (3) years of experience with: driving technical and functional architecture decisions; managing projects end-to-end, including tracking topics, threads, and streams of work, prioritizing work, posting status updates, and driving deliverables; communicating updates to stakeholders and senior management; independently developing software code in a fast-paced, corporate environment; working concurrently on multiple development projects; working across a global team and communicating across regions; articulating the technical and functional aspects of a platform to end-users; performing Object-Oriented Design and Analysis; developing scalable systems and working in an enterprise environment; and evaluating applications designed in software languages, such as JAVA and C++, to understand application design risks and embedded automated controls.
