The Vice President, Global Operations will operate in a highly matrixed environment and work closely with the President and corporate leadership team. The leadership role will manage roughly 4000 people across multiple manufacturing sites in the US, Mexico, China, Mexico, UK, Germany, & India.

The leader will own the entire manufacturing and supply chain to include the functions of Production; Materials Management/Planning; Sourcing of Direct and Indirect Materials; Warehousing, Transportation, and Distribution; Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP); Health, Safety and Environmental; Quality; and Advanced Manufacturing. He/she will manage a team of 10 direct reports.

 

Additional responsibilities and objectives include:

 

?   Develop a highly capable team of integrated supply chain executives with a clear succession plan. We are seeking an individual who can effectively lead and develop the next generation of senior supply chain leaders and deliver breakthrough performance

 

?   Achieve year over year improvements in productivity (direct materials and factory conversion costs), quality, delivery, safety and working capital (inventory, payables, and depreciation components).

 

?   Achieve YOY material deflation improvements ? direct and indirect.

 

?   Achieve YOY improvements in factory efficiency through automation or other progressive manufacturing techniques.

 

?   Enhance the relationships with the commercial leaders of the business and continue to add credibility and value to internal and external customers. 

THE CANDIDATE

 

Education/Certifications:

Bachelors Degreerequired, with a BS in an Engineering discipline and Masters Degree highly preferred.

 

Professional Qualifications, Skills and Attributes:

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and/or a proven track record with demonstrated skill in the following areas:

?   10+ years of manufacturing operations management experience with a premier manufacturing organization. Multi-site plant management experience is required.

 

?   We seek an individual who has managed operations with a large number of products and channels/customers. The management of the supply chain is unique and challenging. The division manufactures an array of electronic, electro-mechanical, and sensors products, and sells through numerous channels.

 

?   Understanding of lean, integrated supply chain principles, and knowledge of best in practice operating systems and other process improvement systems.

 

?   Ability to effectively select, develop, coach, empower and motivate a staff to ensure growth in their scope of responsibility and accountability for operational excellence.

 

?   Successfully integrated sites through acquisition and/or transitioned products to other sites.

 

?   International experience.

 

?   Add value to the senior management team. We need an individual that can approach business challenges from a macro perspective and resolve strategic issues effectively.

 

?   Ability to communicate clearly with an understanding of your audience and to present ideas and gain commitments that are crucial to the success of the business.

 

?   Knowledge and ability to develop and interpret operating plans, budgets, capital plans and financial statements.

 

?   Support and uphold HS&E policies and guidelines in a manufacturing environment.

 

?   Strong understanding and experience in SIOP - SalesInventory Operation Planning process.

 

?   Ability to lead change and establish operational metrics/key indicators for process control, communication, and performance improvement.

 

?   Ability to manage multiple, complex projects and changing priorities; work extended hours when required, make sound decisions under pressure, and work effectively in a team environment.

 

?   A strong bias for action and results oriented.

 

?   Partner with the commercial leaders and finance function to drive improvements in COGS to fund growth for the business.

 

?   Determine the strategic direction of the functions and develop a strategic plan to achieve objectives.
