The Vice President, FP&A is integral to OnDeck’s Finance team and will assist with the company’s short-term and long-term initiatives, including financial forecasting, strategic finance, key metric analysis, investor relations support, and special projects. This role will be a key asset in the future growth of the company and will report directly to OnDeck’s CFO.

The Financial Planning & Analysis team wears many hats – as analysts, strategists, and internal consultants. Whether it’s providing forward-looking analysis to support business decisions, managing the financial needs of an innovation-focused organization, or partnering across the company to get results, our passion is providing the analytical horsepower to support OnDeck’s profitable growth.

As a leader on our Finance team, you will:

  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on capital allocation and investment decisions, driving the organization to achieve our long-term financial goals
  • Lead our very talented FP&A team and nurture strong executive relationships across the organization
  • Lead the annual budget and monthly/quarterly forecasting processes, including assisting in the development of corporate targets and gaining alignment with the Executive team
  • Optimize financial results by supporting peers on financial issues impacting their areas of accountability, including the development of business and financial cases to support new initiatives
  • Spearhead activities to optimize our unit economics and maximize customer lifetime value
  • Identify and monitor significant business trends and variances to plan in revenue, expenses, headcount, capital, balance sheet and cash flow items. Inform senior leadership of any issues and provide proactive and insightful observations and suggestions for improvement
  • Oversee performance management activities by developing and tracking key metrics
  • Drive continuous improvement of the FP&A organization to allow faster response and a deeper level of analysis
  • Assist in preparing/reviewing the MD&A in 10K / 10Q, investor decks and other investor materials
  • Assist in preparing materials for our Board of Directors, investor materials, and other executive updates

About You:

  • 10+ years of functional experience in an FP&A role, or similar role with expanding scope
  • Financial services background preferred
  • Enjoys a fast-paced, growing company
  • You have highly advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Tableau and database/data warehouse skills desirable
  • You have strong leadership skills
  • You maintain the highest standards of accuracy and precision and are highly organized
  • You are articulate and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You have the ability to think creatively, are highly driven and self-motivated
  • You have demonstrated the ability to roll-up your sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity
  • Bachelor degree required, MBA or CPA preferred
