OVERVIEW:
The Vice President of Finance, Capital Markets and Investment, is a strong leader & effective communicator who has a history of building successful teams, forging effective business relationships, and driving business results. We are seeking a tenured Capital Markets Executive, who brings expertise and obtained accomplishments in securing funding to support the future growth strategy of Conifer. The Vice President of Finance will be the key strategist for capitalization of the organization through lenders, investors, and with current owners. The Vice President of Finance possesses broad experience across finance and is comfortable and proficient working in the details but is also a big picture & systematic thinker. Additionally, strong capabilities in financial analysis and modeling to understand and influence business performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Expertise and accomplished capital development achievements in multi-family, real estate preferred.
• Expertise in the development of a sustainable capital funding strategy that will produce year over year funding support to address Conifer's growth requirements.
• Exposure to the Affordable Housing Industry preferred.
• Manage RFP process for debt and equity for Real Estate transactions (LIHTC, Market, Work Force and Others)
• Work with development and finance staff to issue RFP to selected potential partners for Equity, construction and conventional permanent debt.
• Review and analyze proposals.
• Manage closing process for Development transactions (includes conversions to perm financing)
• Work with finance due diligence staff to ensure progress towards closing date, managing relationships with closing partners -development directors/coordinators, investor, lenders.
• Attend due diligence calls, keeping EVP informed
• Review equity and debt documents for key business terms, working with assigned counsel for development transactions. Assist with other acquisition, disposition or refinancing activity as required.
• In concert with Development Directors, support respectful relationships throughout the closing process with Agency and Co-GP staff.
• Manage equity and lender relationships with partners and banks.
• Work with brokers on debt and equity offerings across Conifer development and acquisition business lines.
• Potential to participate within Company Senior Leadership Team to represent finance and work with other department heads on execution of strategic plan and critical activities.
• Perform research as necessary to conduct business relative to the following transactions:
? Development closings or related issues
? Acquisition financing or refinance
? LP acquisitions
• Craft and compile content for pitch decks to work with business leaders presenting capital opportunities on deals.
• Responsible for certain investor reporting on ROI and investment performance.
• Represent Conifer at events as required, including speaking engagements.
• Develop and maintain summary of desired and required business terms for equity and debt.
• Support Finance staff in expanded support of the Development team.
• Participate in development fee budgeting.
• Lead fee and cash collection activities of Finance as required.
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 7-10 years relevant work experience in affordable housing finance desired.
• Demonstrated performance management skills including coaching, mentoring teams.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend complex legal and regulatory agreements, documents.
• Proficient MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Prior data base software skills, preferably in housing industry; Yardi a plus.
EDUCATION:
• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required.
• J.D., MBA or CPA preferred.

The base salary for this position is $150,000-$175,000. The actual compensation may vary depending on a wide range of factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, location, etc. This range does not include additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
