The right candidate has?

  •  20+ years of engineeringexperience leading global teams across several products and technologies? this role is for a seasoned leader, not a first executive role for a great software development manager
  • At least five years in a hands-on, development-intensive individual contributor role, working with both low-level and high-level languages, which continues to inform your leadership working with development teams
  • Strong knowledge/experience in the architecture and design of products with mobile/web optimized frontends, application logic, database, and other services using cloud infrastructure (mandatory)
  • Built a robust platform for your products using a microservice architecture: API contracts, documentation, tests, and implementation, ideally using cloud-native approaches running on Linux, along with virtualization like Docker
  • Delivered scalable products that were deployed on the platform and cloud infrastructure using DevOps (Chef, etc.)
  • Supported collaboration across and within teams through tools like Slack, Git, code reviews, and dashboards
  • Evolved the user experience for your products and platform through rigorous understanding of your users (user analytics) and their preferences (A/B testing, surveys) and engineered the platform for this measurement
  • Ensured quality across the full stack of your products and platform via rigorous automated testing (unit, functional, integration), using continuous integration to ensure full visibility of quality metrics to dev teams and product owners
  • Knowledge of frontend development (JavaScript, Android Java, Swift), frameworks (ReactJS, React Native, Qt), related standards (DOM, WebGL, HTML5, browser challenges)
  • Understanding of the range of NoSQL and SQL options that can be used to support the product platform, along with the ability to choose most appropriate option for a given domain, scale, modeling, and integration
  • Dynamic leadership capability that includes a natural ability to listen, especially to the voice of the customer
  • Good business acumen and communication skills to work with executives and stakeholders across your company, including product management, sales, finance, and support
  • Managed teams with industry best practices in recruiting, performance review, coaching, and promotion
  • Created an environment that fosters innovation while maintaining focus on departmental goals. You create a culture of continuous, systematic improvement within your organization
  • BS or MSdegree in Computer Science/Engineering (mandatory)
