Job Description Summary

This individual will beresponsible to provide insight and collaboration on company-wide accounting operations with complete accountability for their teams within the department.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and initiate process improvement in all accounting related activates
  • Support all department and company initiatives
  • Lead accounting leadership meetings to report on client, company, and staff related issues
  • Implement routine and specific human resource issues as they relate to subordinates including hiring new employees, performance management, and salary adjustments
  • Ensure that new team members are property oriented and trained
  • Provide continual feedback to team members and address and document any performance or behavior issues
  • Develop, coach, and mentor a high performance motivated team
  • Establish sound strategies and methods to ensure timely and effective communication with senior leaders and clients
  • Ensure technology solutions are efficient and aligned with needs
  • Develop procedures/training to assist field personnel with accounting related software
  • Develop and maintain personnel infrastructure sufficient to supporttechnology/training needs and goals
  • Ensure business continuity protocols are in place to safeguard information and business processes
  • Develop, implement, and review new departmental policies and procedures to increase departmental efficiency
  • Participate in and contribute to business development activates  
  • Ensure monthly financial packages are prepared in a timely manner in order to meet pre-established internal and external client-driven deadlines
  • Develop and execute all necessary control objectives required to meet annual SOC 1testing/certification
  • Create and monitor business process and financial statement review procedures to ensure compliance with SOC1 and client dictated quality control objectives  

Requirement

  • BachelorDegree
  • 10+ years accounting experience  
  • CPApreferred
  • Or any similar combination of education and experience  
  • Strong predisposition towards a structures, disciplined approach to planning, monitoring, and controlling financial operations in a complex atmosphere  
  • Demonstrated progressive management responsibilities and relevant experience
  • Experience managing large teams
  • Ability to develop direct reports and overall department creating a respected, accurate, an customer focused organization
  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Physical Requirements

  • Involves work of a general office nature; typically includes extended periods of sitting and/or operation of a computer
  • Regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to write and type
  • Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented orally and in writing
