The Vice President and Principal of Educational Services oversees program operations involving the agency's special education schools and programs. TheVice President and Principal assures the implementation of high quality, cost effective and research based educational services for children. The Vice President and Principal supervises the educational directors and others involved in the education programs as needed. This position also participates in planning program development initiatives and provides leadership to education and related service staff in terms of implementing strategic initiatives.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
MA/MS/MEd degree in Education or a related field plus at least 10 years of experience in special education with increasing supervisory and leadership responsibilities, or the combination of education and experience that enables performance in all aspects of the position is required. Must have current State of Connecticut Certification for Intermediate Administration or Supervision (#092), as well as and an additional endorsement area (such as special ed, speech and language, OT, school social worker, psychologist) as required by Connecticut certification regulations.
Possesses considerable knowledge of special education best practices, as well as education administration, laws, and regulations. Demonstrates interpersonal skills required to lead, motivate, address personnel situations, and interact with students, parents, LEAs, other providers, and stakeholders.
