We are looking for problem solvers, analytical thinkers, and solution initiators in the asset-backed and collateralizedloan obligation spaces. This role will provide unique opportunities formastering the key aspects of our business from in-depth collateral and deal analysis to client interaction. You will be part of a teamresponsible for rating asset-backed securities (ABS) and collateralizedloanobligations(CLOs). This position is based in New York.

Responsibilities:

Perform structural analysis and cash flow modeling for ABS new issue ratings and surveillance.

Review documents, assess the credit profile of collateral pools, build financial models, and conduct cash flow analyses to stress test the structures and enhancement levels under various economic scenarios.

Participate in credit rating committees and help to prepare rating committee presentations.

Interact with bankers, issuers and investors on analytical matters.

Develop and publish rating criteria and methodologies.

Write individual transaction reports as well as thought leadership articles and market commentaries.

Represent Morningstar Credit at industry conferences.

Requirements:

A bachelor`s degree.

Five to seven years of experience in a relevant field.

Excellent writing, communication, and quantitative/analytical skills.

Creative thinker who is adept at taking an analytical approach to problem solving.

Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and Sequel software.

Experience with Intex, T-REX, and Bloomberg is a plus.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience in commercial/esoteric ABS or CLOs preferred

Good presentation / communication skills with ability to effectively interact with groups across divisions

Ability to balance multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Demonstrate attention to detail

Drive and enthusiasm with a team orientation.
