Experience: The Department of Biology at Brigham Young University seeks to fill a full-time, Continuing Faculty Status (BYUs equivalent to tenure-track) position focusing on Vertebrate Biology. Qualified applicants with a PhD, post-doctoral experience, and demonstrated expertise in Vertebrate Biology are encouraged to apply. (CFS-Professorial)
Duties/Expectations: We seek a colleague who shows the potential to become an exceptional teacher who can contribute to our curriculum by teaching animal diversity and other courses in their area of concentration. Candidates should have a familiarity with and an aptitude for student-centered, science-based instruction. Candidates will have a demonstrated ability to conduct research in vertebrate biology with a focus on systematics, evolution, or ecology of vertebrates. It is expected that the successful applicant will be appointed curator in one of the four vertebrate research collections (fishes, reptiles/amphibians, birds or mammals) in the Monte L. Bean Life Sciences Museum and will help build that collection through her/his specimen-based research. The successful applicant will be expected to maintain an externally funded research program involving both undergraduate and graduate students.
