Primary Responsibilities

Located at Grace Lake Corporate Center (GLCC) in Van Buren Twp., near Ann Arbor, Michigan, the Vehicle Test Engineer will directly report to Visteon’s Head of ADAS System Validation. Although the work location is in Van Buren Township, the Vehicle Test Engineer works with a globally dispersed team. 

Typical Duties

  • General understanding of testing concepts and test strategies for ADAS software
  • Creating and maintaining Vehicle Test Suite and Test cases and developing further Use cases.
  • Capturing Vehicle Drive Data from the vehicle with different environment conditions and maintaining it.
  • Analysis of captured vehicle data and execute bench testing with the Vehicle data as input.
  • Ticket based defect reporting and tracking.
  • Working together with the System Integration team for integration and software updates in the vehicle.
  • Executing ADAS system functionality tests in the Vehicle.
  • Structured Analysis and debugging for System and Software issues (in the vehicle)
  • Working together with other stakeholders to support improving the system performance
  • Generation of Test Reports (Vehicle and Bench level) and reporting to different teams.
  • Very good in English.
  • Participation in the maintenance, configuration and adaptation of internal Vehicle Test Suite and System Test Suite.
  • Support in configuration of SIL and HIL test environments and also support in providing scripts and tools for further enhancements working together with simulation team.
  • Analysis and testing in the HIL and SIL set up with the Vehicle Data and providing feedback.


Degree Strongly Preferred:Bachelor’s degree in informatics, computer science, automotive engineering, and electrical engineering or similar with at least 3 years’ experience.

Desired Competencies/Experience

  • University degree in informatics, computer science, automotive engineering, electrical engineering or similar with at least 3 years’ experience.
  • Very good in usage of Vector Tools, knowledge of programming in Python and C/C++ know-how in automotive embedded area.
  • Experience with agile development, test driven development(TDD) and continuous integration
  • Familiar with development environments like ROS (Robot Operating System), ADTF etc.
  • Familiar and knowledge on Linux.
  • Experience in working as integration engineer for test systems / prototypes
  • Previous Experience of Vehicle test driving and capturing data.
  • Knowledge of using ROS, ADTF for vehicle data capture and replay.
  • ISTQB certification will be an added advantage.
  • Research and/or development experience in robotics, automated driving and distributed systems
  • Knowledge of MATLAB Simulink
  • Experience in the testing of systems for automotive network protocols like CAN, Ethernet etc.
  • Ability to understand the requirements and transfer that into test cases or testable scripts.
  • Must be flexible, dependable, and capable of learning new products and technologies.
  • Ready to take up activities to support the team and the Project in time.
  • Exhibits a positive attitude and confidence to handle risks associated with testing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (necessary) as well as to work on an international environment with a distributed team structure.
  • Self-motivated / self-starter with the ability to find creative solutions.

The successful candidate will enjoy working with a global team that crosses a variety of cultures. Because team members reside in numerous time zones, the work schedule may require flexibility and meeting during the early morning or evening hours.
