Roles and Responsibilities 

Business Development (10%)
– In consultation with the Business Line Manager/Vice President, create and implement successful integration strategies to support our products at customer locations throughout North America.  Present plans to Regional Vice Presidents, Sales Managers and product managers, service managers and coordinate/motivate efforts to achieve successful customer installations. Provide monthly reports to management regarding the effectiveness of these installations. These reports should include information about the development of the solution as well as focus on how we can utilize these successful implementations to grow the vacuum solutions business.
Marketing Communications (10%) - Develop and distribute relevant technical data to regional sales teams. Develop and implement informational session and training programs as required to achieve repeatable successful solutions implementations. Create standards and systems to ensure excellent, prompt response to customer inquiries.
Technical Applications Support (40%) – Provide support for vacuum system design, application engineering, and proposal generation to assist the sales force in promoting Atlas Copco vacuum solutions.  Review and respond to customer inquiries and specifications on a timely basis. Design vacuum systems to meet customer requirements in conjunction with product managers. Travel to customer sites and make presentations as necessary to support sales people and technicians as required during complex vacuum system integrations and field start-ups. 
Customer Service (35%) - Review and respond promptly to customer and sales staff inquiries relevant to the applications and complex system integrations. Develop an understanding and collect information, as appropriate, to clarify the needs of the customer or the sales group to better facilitate addressing those needs and expectations. Develop rapport with the sales team and service team through effective communication, interpersonal skills, and professionalism, and strengthen the relationship between sales team and marketing team through ensuring a high standard of customer response.  Visit customer locations to ensure maximum effectiveness of our vacuum equipment through proper integration of vacuum systems, controls with the customer production process.  Support service technician via phone and on-site consultation during start up and integration of vacuum equipment.
Professional Development (5%) – Through training and development remain current in the product knowledge and skills necessary to be effective in the position. 
Perform additional duties as assigned.


– 3+ years of relevant experience in applications engineering, technical support of and servicing of industrial rotating equipment.  Specific experience with vacuum equipment including lubricated rotary screw and rotary vane pumps, dry claw pumps, liquid ring pumps, rotary piston pumps, vacuum boosters and dry screw vacuum pumps is a plus.  Knowledge of PLC’s, HMI’s, VSD and Atlas Copco Elektronikon is a plus.  Proven ability to successfully support and integrate industrial equipment in production environments.

Education – 4-year technical, mechanical or electrical engineering degree or combination of education and equivalent work experience.

Skills – Must be a self-directed team player, who has a positive attitude, can motivate those around them, and is service oriented. Must also have excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Power Point. Field travel to support customers, service and sales activities will be required.
