MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate of the USAF Weapons School required. Graduate of the Space Superiority Weapons Instructor Course preferred. Bachelor's degree (Education or related discipline desired).

Training and Experience: Previous instructor/evaluator experience in the primary training system.

Preferred Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of operational Space Superiority officer experience. Previous experience as a Weapons School or an academic platform instructor. Qualified instructor/evaluator within the preceding four (4) years or qualified as a contractinstructor within the preceding two (2) years. Have attended the military ISD course, or civilian equivalent.Previous experience in the design and development of instructional materials.

General Skills: Passionate about learning and learning processes. Must possess strong technical writing skills and highly developed collaborations, communication, organizational and facilitation abilities; able to express ideas clearly in documents and facilitate concepts in a classroom setting with appropriate organization, structure and grammar; capable of adjusting language and terminology to meet the characteristics and needs of the audience; ability to effectively manage numerous tasks and projects simultaneously; ability to foster teamwork throughout the organization; ability to work individually and as part of a team; strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop technical and conceptual content; ability to design learning activities that take advantage of principles of adult learning, participant-centered learning, effective facilitation and debriefing techniques; ability to establish and maintain customer-oriented relationships, including listening to and understanding the customer (both internal and external) and placing high priority on customer satisfaction.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Security Clearance: Current security clearance of "Secret" or above. Ability ot obtain/maintain a "Top Secret/SCI" security clearance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instructs and measures training process of students who train in the established USAFWS training curriculum.
  • Conducts briefings and debriefings and counsels with student to develop and maintain a high level of proficiency.
  • Performs administrative duties relative to training; such as record keeping, monitoring student progress, counseling, training development and maintenance of USAFWS training programs.
  • Maintains a high level of subject knowledge, capability and expertise.
  • Develops, analyzes and reviews all assigned course ware and related materials IAW the current Air Force model of ISD as defined in AFH 36-2235 Vol. 1.
  • Analyzes test items and cumulative data for trends, and performs basic trend analysis.
  • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of all applicable regulations, instructions, procedures, Technical Orders, and other publications as outlined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
  • Reviews and/or revises course ware materials on both a scheduled and out-of-cycle basis IAW the PWS.
  • Develops, coordinates, and produces a specialty specific course ware development schedule which identifies projected milestones and time phasing of course ware delivery throughout the year; updates this scheduled as required.
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
