Position Description:

Position open in NY, Chicago, Alpharetta, Kansas City

This particular position has four key areas of responsibility:

This person should possess broad understanding of insurance functions, processes, and systems to effectively lead, with operational leaders, the lifecycle of the US insurance business. This position will work extensively with our Accident & Health Operations leader, the Professional Lines Operations leader, and the Property & Casualty Operations leader which provides underwriting support to a combined $1.6 Billion of US premium.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Underwriting Operations Project Management & Implementation:

This position has responsibility for:

  • Management of the pipeline of process improvement opportunities for US business.
  • Working with business leaders and consultants to assess improvement areas in underwriting and operations.
  • Assuring that all project changes are properly approved at the appropriate level with all necessary sign offs.
  • Engaging needed Axis resources to understand and evaluate process nuances.
  • Centrally documenting all evaluations, decisions, and approvals as well as other relevant information.
  • Assisting Operations leaders in implementing changes to operational and underwriting processes.

US Operations Team Training:

This position has responsibility for:

  • Developing training that supports the Operational Capabilities of Customer Experience, Operations Excellence, Collaboration, Continuous Improvement, and Product Expertise.
  • Engaging team members with development opportunities.
  • Overseeing in-person and online training for the team.
  • Documents all training provided and taken.
  • Coordination with Human Resources the roll-out of HR initiatives.

Lead Data Steward for US Operations:

This position has responsibility to:

  • Partner with the Data Office on behalf of US Insurance.
  • Assure that Data stewards are in place for US Insurance.
  • Lead data destruction which meets destruction policies.
  • Understand and coordinate projects undertaken by the Data Office.
  • Assist in requirements gathering of data needs with IT implementations.

Performance Metrics Lead:

This position has responsibility to:

  • Develop performance metrics to oversee US Operations.
  • Work with our Tableau team to create visible metrics.
  • Enhance existing performance metrics to measure success.
  • Communicate metrics to our key stakeholders.
  • Manage the budget process for US Operations.

Required Education/Training & Experience:

  • A four-year degree from an accredited university is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years P & C insurance experience required.
  • Extensive industry knowledge required including an in depth understanding of insurance processes.
  • Must have the ability to manage, coordinate, and lead multi-functional teams.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of various functional areas within an insurance company and experience in interacting with these areas relative to support of the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal support units, as well as senior/executive management.
  • This position will require travel 30% of the time.
  • CPCU or other industry professional designation desired.
