Lakeview Medical Center opened its new facility attached to the Marshfield Clinic – Rice Lake Center in 2011. This 40 bed facility includes 16 ER/UC beds, 27 inpatient rooms including 3 pediatric and 5 ICU rooms, 4 OR’s and 4 L&D rooms. The combined campus provides a wide variety of medical services and serves as a training site for the Wisconsin Academy of Rural Medicine (WARM) program. Otherhealthcare professional students also train at the center.
Rice Lake, located in Northwestern Wisconsin, serves a regional area of approximately 50 mile radius. The city of 8,000 has a stable economy centered around healthcare, manufacturing, and retailtrade. The area school system provides students with an excellent educational experience, including Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College (WITC) and University of Wisconsin-Barron County Campus. Rice Lake is a wonderful place to raise a family, and is a popular summer resort area as well as a playground for those who enjoy youth sports, swimming, boating, water-skiing, and fishing, hiking the Ice Age Trail, hunting, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, cross country and downhill skiing, and great golf courses.
