Job Summary

Data Center Operations Analyst: Applies professional-level technical skill and judgment to provide non-routine technical support for computer/data center operations. Installs, configures and troubleshoots server and non-desktop computer hardware, software, systems and other resources in a data center or other centralized computer network setting. Maintains access control, data integrity and file system security for the computer/data center environment. Monitors, tracks and records system performance and utilization metrics. Communicates highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel. Recommends process, hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades, to improve computer/data center efficiency. May participate in development of information technology and infrastructure projects.

Job Requirements

- The tasks this individual is responsible for are often non-routine and unstructured, requiring creative solutions.- This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving routine to moderately complex problems.Interaction: - This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, and the technical team on assigned projects. There may be communication with employees in other functions as required.- Limited management direction is provided to employee on new projects or assignments as well as review of activities and priorities.- The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert on team projects.- To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through coaching and influencing others.

  • Proficient at installing, configuring, and maintaining UNIX ( both in a physical and virtual environment).
  • Experiencewith Red Hat Linux operating system.
  • Proficient in provisioning and troubleshooting hardware such as Cisco UCS, Fujitsu.
  • Knowledge of the storage environments (SAN, NAS, NFS); NetApp storage skills is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts: the OSI model, TCP, IP, routing, firewalls, load balancers.
  • Hands-on experiencewith virtualization technologies such has VMWare, KVM.
  • Experiencewith automated configuration management (with any/all of Chef, Puppet, Ansible)


Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor?s degree; or 5 years and a Master?s degree; or a PhDwithout experience; or equivalent work experience.
