Qbase is looking for an Unified Communications (UC) Engineer to support a critical initiative to modernize our Federal Law Enforcement Customers legacy telephony systems to an enterprise-class VoIP and Unified Communications solution across all CONUS locations.
Iterate and improve the existing network and telephony ‘Core’ design and improve interfaces with enterprise services (network management, directory services, security incident and event management services, life-safety technology integration, etc.)
Improve Interfaces for future Unified Communications enhancements
Define requirements supporting unified communications enhancements and agency enterprise services.
Provide Voice/VoIP design, architecture and engineering support.
Experience in supporting the designing of a phone and network systems that comply with Enterprise infrastructure standards.
A self-starter - ability to thrive in an unstructured environment
Perform site surveys to collect information on customer environments, along with developing detailed diagrams of the users’ physical and logical environments.
Researches technological advancements to ensure that Unified Communication solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry and company standards as well as emerging business requirements.
At least (3) years of experience on VOIP projects.
Experience designing the space and managing where switches, cables and phones will be installed.
Experience working with stakeholders on site to provide the most reliable action plan based on the infrastructure of the site.
Experience providing circuit, network, and firewall readiness expertise to include requirements gathering, delivery and staging support.
Experience providing data gathering, station and trunk programing support, user training, resource management, and site scheduling/rescheduling support.
Experience providing Tiers 2&3 O&M services.
Experience with Avaya Communications Manager.
SIP UC/CC architecture understanding
Must be willing to work at customer site in Washington DC metropolitan area.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
