The UC Engineer is responsible for the operations, support and implementation of the Unified Communications platform. The infrastructure includes but is not limited to Cisco UCS, Cisco Unified Communications Managers, Cisco Unity Connection, UCC Enterprise, CVP, Finesse, Cisco Presence, Cisco Jabber, and Cisco TMS.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
-Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving the efficiency, reliability and performance of these systems.
-Provide recommendations and implement changes to the Unified Communications network monitoring software; identify enhancement opportunities to improve system availability and overall performance.
-Perform basic to advanced level adds, moves, and changes for users and services. Troubleshoot and resolve both user and application errors.
-Perform server OS and application maintenance including patches and software upgrades.

-Technical background on Cisco voice gateways and Telco configuration (ISDN POTS PRI SIP).
-Understanding of network switching and routing as related to a Unified Communications and Voice over IP networks, including SIP, MGCP and H.323 protocol suites.
-Experience implementing and maintaining Unified Communications and Voice over IP in secure computing environments.
-Excellent analytical skills, and ability to use tools like Wireshark, Splunk, and other means for analytic root cause analytics Strong skills in Voice Collaboration and solid RS (RouteSwitch) expertise.
-Advanced LAN and WAN QoS Knowledge Project Management skills
-Excellent client management resolution, problem solving, debugging troubleshooting skills
-Excellent verbal communications and written documentation skills
-Ability to define and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and network diagrams for all Unified Communications equipment; establish system administration standards, procedures and expectations as part of the deployment of new infrastructure services, systems and technologies.
-Ability to work independently while also demonstrating a collaborative and collegial work style.
-Ability to implement and configure current and future Unified Communications Voice over IP technologies
-Must possess a high degree of accountability, and commitment to meeting customer and management expectations.
EDUCATION and or EXPERIENCE 5+ years of related IP telephony design implementation, administration and support experience including: 3+ years Cisco Unified Communications Manager Call Manager, design and implementation Cisco Unity Connection Cisco Contact Center Enterprise (UCCE) Cisco Unified Meeting Place and WebEx Cisco Unified Presence Cisco TMSTelepresence Cisco Jabber Video Voice Gateways Routers Switches CUBE VMWare Infrastructure (vCenter, vSphere, ESXi) Cisco UCS VOIP Protocols- SIP, H.323, SCCP, MGCP, etc. CCNP-Voice or CCIE
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position will have no direct on going supervisory responsibility.
