Responsibilities

Responsible for all phases of implementing complex enterprise network, voice and video solutions. Secures network and infrastructure systems by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access. Establishes requirements, balancing capability with security. Performs tradeoff analyses between alternatives. Cognizant of best practices in routing and switching, unified communications, video, and information security. Plans upgrade and migration paths for existing network, voice, and video solutions. Establishes and enforces system policies, standards and procedures. Responsible for configuration, monitoring and continuous improvement of enterprise systems.

Key Functions

  • Lead and/or support major network, voice, and video projects to support new initiatives, capacity, life-cycle management, upgrades, new products and/or features, and integration
  • Provide technical leadership for core networking, voice, and video services 
  • Establish and maintain network analysis and monitoring tools; including fine tuning, health monitoring, and alerting

  • Create and maintain documentation for network, voice, and video systems
  • Optimize stability, availability, reliability, and performance of network, voice, and video services
  • Coordinates and communicates ongoing tasks with other teams for infrastructure updates, and customer notifications
  • Interfaces with user community to understand needs and designs and implements solutions to accommodate them
  • Collaborates with other infrastructure teams in the architecture governance process. Provides technical guidance to project team areas as appropriate
  • Tracks industry trends, conducts research, and maintains knowledge of new technologies to provide the organization with optimal solutions
  • Responsible for planning and implementing new features and services
  • May work on Cisco and Avaya Call Managers, Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Contact Center Express, Skype, Cisco Emergency Responder (E-911), TelePresence Management Suite, VCS, Expressway, Skype for Business

 

This position is available as an Aerospace Corporation Staff III or IV.

Qualifications

Required

  • 6 or more years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree. 4 or more years of relevant experience with a Master's degree.
  • Extensive experience working with Cisco routers and switches
  • Extensive experience with architecture and design of Cisco Unified Communications applications and infrastructure
  • Extensive experience with design and implementation of CUCM and CUC
  • Extensive experience with traditional PBX and voicemail system integration to a Unified Communications environment
  • Extensive experience with Cisco Telepresence video solutions
  • Extensive experience with Voice Gateways: MCGP, SIP, H.323, SCCP
  • Extensive experience with Border Element, Media Resources, SRST/SRVC
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Contact Center
  • Experience with Cisco Emergency Responder (E-911)
  • Experience with Skype audio and video conferencing solutions
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects
  • Must possess strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects at one time
  • Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational needs

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret SSBI SCI clearance with counterintelligence polygraph

Preferred

  • 10 or more years of relevant experience with Bachelor's Degree, 8 or more years of relevant experience with Master's Degree, or PhD
  • Cisco certification: CCNP, OR CCIE

Staff IV Qualifications

Required

  • The Staff III Required Qualifications from above
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s Degree, 8 or more years of relevant experience with Master’s Degree

Preferred

  • Cisco certification : CCNP, OR CCIE
