Lead an underwriting team that includes surety territory managers and field underwriters for a large market contract surety book of business. Develop business relationships with agencies and brokers, underwrite large accounts, direct employee engagement, and manage expenses for the territory.
*** Monitor risk selection, bond risk, renewal retention, and pricing decisions on a portfolio and individual account level.
*** Review and approve underwriting decisions of staff and ensure compliance to legal requirements and organizational, business and strategic objectives.
*** Analyze performance of portfolio as well as individual account performance
*** Develop appropriate action to drive profitable growth.
*** Create financial and operational goals, budgets, and timelines to meet company standards.
*** Plan, develop, and integrate territory sales plans to achieve top and bottom line objectives.
*** Manage training of associates within surety organization to ensure a high degree of competency and professionalism.
*** Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key groups and individuals within the contract lines market.
