The following position is to join our BBN Technologies team:
What You Will Do:
- Contribute to the design, development, and high-fidelity modeling and simulation of advanced underwater acoustics and real-time signal processing systems.
- Develop, analyze, and optimize complex digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms for sonar applications, acoustic propagation, and performance.
- Travel to customer sites, field test locations, and other RTX facilities to support system integration, sea trials, and program reviews.

Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline.
- 2+ years of professional engineering experience specifically focused on signal processing, modeling, or simulation.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Solid, demonstrable understanding of underwater acoustics fundamentals and digital signal processing principles.
- Extensive hands-on experience utilizing MATLAB programming for algorithm formulation and data analysis.
- Willingness and capability to travel domestically and internationally as needed to support critical program milestones.
- Proven experience leveraging Simulink for system-level modeling and generating MEX files for hardware optimization.
- Professional proficiency in C/C++ programming languages targeted for embedded or real-time operating systems.
- Foundational experience implementing or adapting machine learning algorithms to address complex acoustic classification and pattern recognition challenges.
- Strong analytical, communication, and technical writing skills to present complex engineering data to internal leadership and external DoD stakeholders.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidates work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
