To enable our continued growth, we are looking to expand our leadership team in Texas through the addition of a TxDOT Market Manager to our dynamic organization.

Responsibilities

Summary:

The position of TxDOT Market Manager is responsible for growing market share within the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) market segment. The Market Manager will lead all activities within the state of Texas including sales, approvals, acceptance, strategy and overall growth with TxDOT related ADS products. The Market Manager will recruit, hire, train, motivate and direct the TxDOT designated sales people within the state of Texas. This individual is responsible for communicating company goals and implementing the strategies to obtain expected growth results.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • TxDOT District Office product acceptance
    • Manage assigned District Office relationships to increase acceptance of HDPE/HP pipe
    • Identify projects that qualify for tiered approval process
    • Support EPM and Sales assigned initiatives
  • Leading the sales process for TxDOT projects
    • Manage sales for projects under tiered approval process
    • Support EPM and Sales Reps efforts with TxDOT projects and maintenance barns throughout the state of Texas
  • Developing influential relationships with highway contractors performing work on TxDOT projects
  • Work closely with zone sales, engineering and corporate management to coordinate TXDOT efforts
  • Developing key relationships with various TxDOT field personnel including District Engineers, Area Engineers, District Design Engineers, Maintenance Engineers and related staff
  • Conducting presentations to various stakeholders (TxDOT, contractors, select engineering firms, etc.)
  • Participating in industry related events (AGC of TX) as well as various political events
  • Developing and leveraging key relationships with various state legislature members
  • Interacting with inter-company personnel to maximize company performance for customers and sales people (plants, corporate, CSR's etc.)
  • Design and execute plans to reach performance goals
  • Train, direct and motivate TxDOT activities to the sales team
  • Communicate business, market and competitive conditions to management
  • Communicate and administer company directive and strategy
  • Design and implement regional performance goals
  • Daily travel and interaction with sales people and customers
  • Daily monitoring and management of key metrics (orders, shipments, yield, etc.)

Educational Requirements:

  • 4 Year Degree (Business, Engineering or technical degreepreferred)

Preferred Experience:

  • 3-5 Years construction related sales and sales management
  • Engineered or technical product experience
  • Successful history growing sales and overall business development
  • Recognized industry sales leader (e.g., awards, accommodations, quantified successes, etc.)
  • Prevoius TxDOT or TX governmental sales or business development preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee will be interacting with various customers and individuals (TxDOT personnel, contractors, distributors, agency and political contacts, etc.) on a daily basis and must maintain an executive appearance
  • Employee will be communicating with people all day so they must have clear communication skills
  • The employee will be required to travel to various facilities within the state of Texas and must be able to travel over 50% of the time
