Designer and manufacturer of Specialty Turbomachinery seeks an experienced Principal Engineer to lead projects from inception to shipment and provide oversight to other project engineers including: analysis, design, manufacturing oversight, assembly, and testing of electromechanical turbomachinery assemblies.
Candidatewill work with high speed, custom rotating electro machinery for rocket engine turbopumps, torpedo power plants, next generation power generation systems, geothermal and waste heat Rankine cycle turbines, laser cooling pumps, automotive power systems, cryogenic pumps, and more.
*** Serve as project engineer for complex clean sheet projects. Provide technical and programmatic direction to junior engineers regarding Motor design and Mechanical aspects (rotor dynamics, stress, thermal, bearings, seals) and Power Electronics.
*** Consult with sales team and client to acquire project requirements and recommend appropriate technical solution.
*** Manage mechanical and electrical designers and oversee layout and detail design tasks.
*** Collaborate with onsite machine shop personnel to improve manufacturability of design practices.
*** Lead test procedures and ensure test efficacy and safety measure compliance.
***Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or similar Engineering field.
***10+ years of experience with design, analysis, testing, and troubleshooting electromechanical rotating equipment.
*** Knowledge of Machining practices, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
