REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Payroll

The TRS Compliance Manager is responsible for compliance with and reporting to the Teacher Retirement System of Texas.

  • MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Lead the development, implementation, and administration of processes to support compliance with monthly TRS data submissions and payments
  • Monitor the data generated by the Human Resources and Payroll teams that impact TRS
  • Work with the Senior Directors of Human Resources and Payroll to ensure that processes and data maintenance on the respective teams support the TRS submissions
  • Create and prepare for submission monthly TRS data submission reports
  • Research errors that TRS reporting generates and work with the Human Resources and Payroll teams to correct the data in the HRIS/Payroll system
  • Together with the Senior Directors of Human Resources and Payroll, educate the Human Resources and Payroll teams on TRS requirements and how their work impacts those submissions
  • Prepare TRS forms as requested by retirees
  • Prepare wage verifications
  • Prepare payroll data reports as needed
  • Manage payroll projects
  • Assist with the payroll process


  • Education and Knowledge:Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
  • 5+ years' experience in payroll administration
  • Experience with TRS or other governmental reporting greatly preferred
  • Experience working in an educational setting preferred

Compensation and Benefits

Salary is based on years of experience, degree of education, and level of expertise. A competitive benefits package is also offered.
