AKRF, Inc. seeks highly qualified Senior Project Managers and Project Managers to join our Transportation Planning Department to manage environmental review documents pursuant to federal, state, and local regulations and requirements. The department consists of skilled and experienced planners who oversee the preparation of environmental analysis and documentation for transportationinfrastructure projects for federal (FHWA, FTA, FRA, and FAA), state (NYSDOT, MTA, NJ Transit) and local (NYCDOT) agencies. Our staff have expertise in National Environmental Policy Act requirements and other related rules and regulations. We have an exciting portfolio of highway, bridge, rail, transit, port, and aviation projects in New York, New Jersey, and Maryland, and our practice continues to grow.

The responsibilities of successful candidates will include:

  • Oversight and management of environmental review and planning documents for transportation projects, including Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements
  • Coordination with clients and other consultants as part of a project team
  • Management of in-house technical disciplines and other specialty consultants in the development of environmental documents
  • Management and tracking of projects, including scopes of work, budgets, and schedules
  • Participation in business development activities of our transportation sector
  • Development of proposals for project pursuits
  • Assistance in staff training and development

To quality, candidates must demonstrate:

  • 15 years of related experience for a Senior Project Manager, or 7 years of related experience for a Project Manager
  • Experience with environmental review documents and procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • An ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Project management capabilities such as the preparation of scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and meeting materials
  • Knowledge of project management procedures, tools, and software
